Si votre cheval est en bonne santé, c’est-à-dire, se maintient dans un bon état corporel, n’a pas de problèmes dentaires, hépatiques, ou rénaux. Nous conseillons de distribuer entre 1,5 et 2,5% en matière sèche du poids du cheval en foin, soit entre 8 et 14kg pour un cheval de 500 kg. Si votre cheval est en bonne santé, c’est-à-dire n’a pas de problèmes dentaires, hépatiques ou rénaux, mais a du mal à se maintenir en état. Nous conseillons d’augmenter la quantité de foin dans la ration, soit 2,5% en matière sèche du poids du cheval en foin par jour, ce qui correspond à 14kg pour un cheval de 500kg. Cette quantité doit normalement correspondre à une distribution de foin « à volonté ». Si votre cheval a du mal à se maintenir en état, à cause de problèmes dentaires (difficultés à mastiquer, plus de dents) malgré des soins vétérinaires ou d'un technicien dentaire équin.
